Overview

Gong is the market leader in revenue intelligence, self-described as a "Revenue AI OS" with 250+ integrations and proprietary AI trained on billions of sales interactions. Core capabilities include conversation intelligence, deal health scoring, AI-driven forecasting, and 15+ AI agents for sales workflows. Gong was named a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Revenue Action Orchestration.

The challenge is that conversations don't stop at the sales team. Support hears product issues first. Product learns about use cases in customer calls. Legal reviews sensitive discussions. Harmony is built as conversation data infrastructure for the whole organization, not just one department.

Pricing

Gong's pricing is opaque and steep. List price runs ~$1,600/user/year plus a platform fee of $5,000–$50,000. Add-ons like Gong Forecast (~$700/user/year) and Gong Engage (~$800/user/year) push all-in costs toward $3,000/user/year. A typical 100-user enterprise deal lists at $170K–$177K annually.

There is no free tier, no self-serve option, and no monthly billing.

Security & Data Residency

Gong holds SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001/27017/27018/27701, and ISO 42001 certifications. However, all customer data is stored in the United States. Processing occurs across the US, Israel, and Ireland. There is no EU data residency option — a dealbreaker for organizations with strict European data sovereignty requirements.

Gong's AI architecture combines proprietary models trained on its unique sales dataset with augmented third-party LLMs, using an Elo rating system to benchmark model performance per feature. You cannot choose which models process your data or swap providers as better options emerge.

Key Differences

Single-team vs. cross-team. Gong is purpose-built for sales and revenue teams. Its workflows, dashboards, and coaching features assume a sales context. Harmony serves every team that has conversations — with flexible insight definitions, projects, and permissions that adapt to any workflow.

Closed ecosystem vs. open infrastructure. Gong keeps your data inside its platform. Harmony gives you a conversation data lake you own, query, and pipe into your systems — CRM, BI tools, data warehouse, or custom integrations.

Source support. Gong covers Zoom, Google Meet, and Teams via bot, plus VoIP/PBX integrations (Zoom Phone, Teams Phone, RingCentral). But there is no offline or in-person recording, no IVR ingestion. Harmony ingests from any source — video meetings, phone calls, IVR systems, and offline recordings — into a single unified layer.

AI workspace. Beyond conversation analysis, Harmony is a full AI client with projects, connectors, skills, and agents. Gong's AI is limited to its revenue-focused features.

When to Choose Harmony

If your needs begin and end with sales call recording and revenue forecasting, Gong is a mature choice. But if you need conversation intelligence that spans the entire organization — with data ownership, EU data residency, AI flexibility, and infrastructure you control — Harmony is built for that.
